Happy Thanksgiving!

The Macy's Day Parade 1924

Look at Mickey! I can't remember the last time I watched this parade but I wanted to this  year, so I set my alarm and am watching the wonderful guests and familiar giant cartoon characters from my childhood.

I am excited to eat some awesome turkey, stuffing, potatoes, etc., at my Nana's house with the family. I am grateful I have a house and a family to gather with. I am grateful for the wonderful sister and cousins I have that I am so close to. I plan on actually putting some effort into my appearance today instead of throwing on the usual jeans and sweatshirt. haha. I'm pretty excited to hang out with my cousins and sister and I am so grateful to have them to be excited about. I hope all of you can share this day with someone you are thankful for whether it be with your family, the love of your life, your loyal puppy or maybe you can be thankful for the quiet time and sleep in if you're on your own today! Whatever your situation is, Happy Thanksgiving! At least you can grab some food and stuff your face like I plan on doing. ;]

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! What are you thankful for?

Thanksgiving: Caramel Stuffed Apple Cider Cookies

Apple Cider Cookies stuffed with Caramel and another one that is Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies! Sounds amazing, right? I found both of these recipes online recently and have never made them before so I’m hoping they turn out awesome. I really want to make them for Christmas gifts, so this is a Thanksgiving test run. They came out good and smell delish. I want to gobble (ha) 'em up but I can't because of my stupid mouth and the big gaping hole in them. The first two pictures are the cookies with the caramel inside of them and the last one is a picture of a cookie with the caramel and choco chips upside down because the caramel was dripping all over the counter. Oops! Well, these are my treats I made for the family for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I hope its a hit because then I can make them for Christmas presents! Woo hoo!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you have a lovely holiday, xoxo

You can find the recipe for Caramel Stuffed Apple Cider Cookies here. I encourage you to look through this wonderful blog. There are so many recipes. This lady is amazing!

Thanksgiving Thoughts

There’s something about the rain at 1 am along with a toothache that just makes you want to sit up with your laptop and write some material for your soon-to-be blog. I keep trying to think of what would make my blog interesting for people to want to keep coming back to. And I just realized at this moment what usually makes me want to go back to a certain website, blog or writer is when it feels like they’re talking to me as a friend. I love honesty and the quiet sense of vulnerability from a writer. I figured that right now would be a good time for both of those things to come from me. I am currently sitting in my living room with the rain pounding on the roof, my laptop on my coffee table, feeling inspired at 1 am with a little help from a pain killer. (wisdom teeth out + pain = pain killer) I apologize in advance if this just doesn’t make sense. What a great way to start off a blog. Anyway, guess what? Thanksgiving is in two days and I am super bummed about not being able to dive face first into a table of turkey and goodies. But that isn’t stopping me from making some delicious deserts for the rest of my family! Below is a picture of Caramel Stuffed Apple Cider Cookies. The picture and recipe is here. The blog it's from is awesome and I encourage you to check it out for some delicious recipes!

I'm sure mine aren't going to turn out as cute and delicious looking as these, but I can't wait to give it a go!
