So, you've stumbled across this blog that you think is about Freckles...

I've been trying my best to get some traffic to my site and according to my stats I've been getting a few curious visits. I just wanted to say hello and that I am brand new at this whole blogging/creating my own website thing and I hope to gain some loyal followers. It's not going to consist of only beauty and makeup type things like the posts I've put up recently. I want to build a place that makes teens and twenty-something women want to come and see what I've put up. I do want to talk fashion, beauty and material things but I also want to talk high school, college, education and advice on how to get through all of that. I want to discuss body acceptance and health.  I want opinions flying and I want people to want to write for the site and tell people about it. I want to create a positive environment for women. I check certain blogs and websites daily loving every article, opinion, writer and I want to be part of that community by building something of my own.

If you've stumbled across this blog to see what I'm all about it, I ask you to bookmark it... come back tomorrow and the next day and the next day and watch the progress that will come. My name is Alex, I am 21 years old and I'm a college girl who is trying to follow a dream from a long, long time ago. Be part of it. :)

Black Friday at Sephora

So, since my entire family consists of women, it was pretty easy to get their Christmas presents. I got everyone’s presents from Sephora. lol My cousins, my sister, my three closest friends. I spent so much money but it was worth it because they were on sale and I love my girls to pieces and if I had a million dollars I would spend it all on them. Me and my sister got my mom’s present too which is nice :) And we got my dad an awesome present that he’s going to love. I’m pretty excited for this Christmas. And for the rest of my family, like my aunts and stuff.. I’m just going to make some delicious goodies and make goodie bags up filled with different baked goods that I found online. :)
I got myself something too. I have been wanting a new comforter forever. Like a really comfy one that I can sleep with and be warm and cozy. I went to Macys and found a Calvin Klein white comforter that was originally 220 dollars and I only paid 80 bucks for it. AWESOME, RIGHT?! I was so excited. I am so excited.
My mouth hurts so much right now. Its been a week since I got my two wisdom teeth out but then I got dry sockets so it’s been really painful all week. :( I’m exhausted too since I’ve been up all night. I’m going to eat some oatmeal that I swirled some pumpkin maple butter in (my friend gave me  a jar of it for my birthday!) and it’s super delish and I’m going to curl up in my new comfy cozy comforter and drift off into a medicine induced sleep.

Since I love Sephora and they have some pretty good deals, I'm going to post some of the stuff they have on sale that caught my eye.
Happy Holidays xo

Happy Thanksgiving!

The Macy's Day Parade 1924

Look at Mickey! I can't remember the last time I watched this parade but I wanted to this  year, so I set my alarm and am watching the wonderful guests and familiar giant cartoon characters from my childhood.

I am excited to eat some awesome turkey, stuffing, potatoes, etc., at my Nana's house with the family. I am grateful I have a house and a family to gather with. I am grateful for the wonderful sister and cousins I have that I am so close to. I plan on actually putting some effort into my appearance today instead of throwing on the usual jeans and sweatshirt. haha. I'm pretty excited to hang out with my cousins and sister and I am so grateful to have them to be excited about. I hope all of you can share this day with someone you are thankful for whether it be with your family, the love of your life, your loyal puppy or maybe you can be thankful for the quiet time and sleep in if you're on your own today! Whatever your situation is, Happy Thanksgiving! At least you can grab some food and stuff your face like I plan on doing. ;]

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! What are you thankful for?

Thanksgiving: Caramel Stuffed Apple Cider Cookies

Apple Cider Cookies stuffed with Caramel and another one that is Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies! Sounds amazing, right? I found both of these recipes online recently and have never made them before so I’m hoping they turn out awesome. I really want to make them for Christmas gifts, so this is a Thanksgiving test run. They came out good and smell delish. I want to gobble (ha) 'em up but I can't because of my stupid mouth and the big gaping hole in them. The first two pictures are the cookies with the caramel inside of them and the last one is a picture of a cookie with the caramel and choco chips upside down because the caramel was dripping all over the counter. Oops! Well, these are my treats I made for the family for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I hope its a hit because then I can make them for Christmas presents! Woo hoo!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you have a lovely holiday, xoxo

You can find the recipe for Caramel Stuffed Apple Cider Cookies here. I encourage you to look through this wonderful blog. There are so many recipes. This lady is amazing!

Thanksgiving Thoughts

There’s something about the rain at 1 am along with a toothache that just makes you want to sit up with your laptop and write some material for your soon-to-be blog. I keep trying to think of what would make my blog interesting for people to want to keep coming back to. And I just realized at this moment what usually makes me want to go back to a certain website, blog or writer is when it feels like they’re talking to me as a friend. I love honesty and the quiet sense of vulnerability from a writer. I figured that right now would be a good time for both of those things to come from me. I am currently sitting in my living room with the rain pounding on the roof, my laptop on my coffee table, feeling inspired at 1 am with a little help from a pain killer. (wisdom teeth out + pain = pain killer) I apologize in advance if this just doesn’t make sense. What a great way to start off a blog. Anyway, guess what? Thanksgiving is in two days and I am super bummed about not being able to dive face first into a table of turkey and goodies. But that isn’t stopping me from making some delicious deserts for the rest of my family! Below is a picture of Caramel Stuffed Apple Cider Cookies. The picture and recipe is here. The blog it's from is awesome and I encourage you to check it out for some delicious recipes!

I'm sure mine aren't going to turn out as cute and delicious looking as these, but I can't wait to give it a go!

It's Coming ...

Its that time of year! Christmas music dances on your eardrums every time you step into a store, you start making lists of what to get your family and friends, people might even give you a list of things to get them, kids start counting down the days until Santa comes… It’s fun! And it’s stressful. But I love Christmas and I love the music and the shopping and the wrapping and everything about it. So, since Black Friday is coming up we’re going to start posting some things to get you into the spirit of the holidays!
